Mummy makeover breast enhancement
The increase in breast size during pregnancy and breast feeding can lead to a deflated appearance in the months or years following birth. Typically, this leaves the nipple in a lower position and creates a loss of volume to the upper part of the breast.
As part of the mummy makeover, Dan Marsh will discuss surgical options to restore the fuller, more youthful appearance of your breast. Techniques used to lift and increase volume for the breast include:
Mummy makeover abdominal surgery
The other part of the body affected by pregnancy and childbirth is the abdomen, which expands during pregnancy and retracts after birth. Unfortunately the abdomen doesn’t always return to its pre-pregnancy shape and size, sometimes leaving an excess of skin, with or without stretch marks.
Internally, the paired rectus abdominal muscles can become widened during pregnancy and are unable to hold the abdominal contents, leaving a weakness to the abdominal wall and a bulging of the lower abdomen.
Tightening of the abdominal muscles and removal of the excess lower abdominal tissue is carried out with an abdominoplasty procedure, which is often combined with liposuction to sculpt the flanks - this constitutes the second part of a 'mummy makeover'.
As well as a full abdominoplasty, some women may be suitable for a mini-abdominoplasty or liposuction alone if there’s only a very small amount of tissue to remove.
